The Sailboat Shop Types of Services
Whether your sailboat is tiny or your power boat is a monster yacht, The Sailboat Shop is well-equipped to haul it and launch it for you.
Our boating professionals typically launch sailboats and powerboats at the New York State boat launch site on Skaneateles Lake. For sailboats less than 6,000 pounds that cannot be trailer launched, The Sailboat Shop carefully engages a boom crane to lift and launch them at the Skaneateles Country Club.

The Sailboat Shop provides a variety of boat storage services for boaters residing in the area, as well as those who enjoy boating on Skaneateles Lake.
Winter Storage Services
Although some boaters choose to bring their boats to us, others prefer to have The Sailboat Shop haul their boats to our location from their lakefront property. Other winter storage services available after Labor Day, and preferably before mid-October, include:

Summer Storage Services
At The Sailboat Shop, we know how fortunate we are to be located a stone's throw from beautiful Skaneateles Lake. Because we want everyone in the Central New York and Finger Lakes region to enjoy this resource, we maintain rental space in our boatyard for seasonal summer and transient boat storage.
What could be better? You can leave your boat here for the summer and pick it up when you're ready to use it.
All summer and transient boat storage spaces are situated in safe and convenient locations, making it easy for you to hook up any time. This saves you the trouble of trailering your boat a long distance or having to leave it in your driveway.

Standard Mooring Installation
The Sailboat Shop can install a 1,200-pound lake-friendly concrete mooring off your waterfront property that will safely hold your boat or swim raft. Fees include the mooring, load rated galvanized proof coil chain, swivel, shackles, mooring ball installation, and delivery to your property.
Custom Mooring Lines
The Sailboat Shop can also build custom mooring lines to suit your boat and keep it secure, even in the roughest weather. Please call us for a price quote and to discuss your particular needs.
Mooring Inspections & Repairs
Did you know that moorings need to be checked on a regular basis to ensure that the chain links-especially the bottom 3 to 4 feet-haven't worn paper thin? If that happens, your boat could break loose.
At The Sailboat Shop and FingerLakes Dock & Hoist, we're always on board with our work barge and ready to winch your mooring to the water's surface to change out the chain. Should the chain part, we're experienced with diving on the mooring to replace your chain so your boat remains secure.
Mooring Rentals
The Sailboat Shop and FingerLakes Dock & Hoist rent moorings for the summer season. Located 9 miles south on the east side of Skaneateles Lake near Mid-Lakes Mooring Club, convenient parking and a dock are available at the mooring location. Please call us today to reserve your space!
